Opiod Drugs Found in US-Israeli Food Aid
Highly addictive and potentially fatal opioid pills found inside flour bags distributed by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”
In a statement released on Friday, the Gaza Government Media Office confirmed that oxycodone tablets — a highly addictive and potentially fatal opioid — were found inside flour bags distributed by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF), a US-Israeli aid operator, and warned of the possibility that some of the drug had been ground into the flour itself.
Oxycodone is commonly used to manage chronic pain in cancer patients but can cause serious side effects, including respiratory failure and hallucinations. It is a potent opioid.
In the context of malnutrition and medical collapse, it becomes a slow-acting weapon: sedating, addicting, or poisoning civilians already weakened by siege.
Gaza-based doctor, Khalil Mazen Abu Nada, warned in a Facebook post that the substance is being used “to obliterate our societal awareness”.
“Oxycodone is a medication used to treat severe pain, particularly after surgeries or for cancer patients. The issue with this drug is that it acts on certain receptors in the brain and triggers the release of large amounts of dopamine, which creates feelings of euphoria and relief. Unfortunately, this feeling is the first step toward addiction. The user begins to crave repeated doses, and over time, the previous dose loses its effect, prompting them to increase the dosage to achieve the same impact.
Complications of Oxycodone:
– Its most serious and dangerous complication is that it can cause severe respiratory depression, which may lead to immediate respiratory failure, and then death.
– Confusion and hallucinations, with a decrease in awareness and cognition.
– Severe drop in blood pressure, which reduces blood supply to vital organs, potentially causing organ failure such as in the liver or kidneys.
Our battle with them is not just a battle of weapons, but a battle of awareness and consciousness. They are mastering the art of numbing us and distorting our perception, and are doing everything they can to erase our societal awareness.”
The Gaza authorities accused the Israeli military of “exploiting the blockade to smuggle these substances as ‘aid and assistance’,” and held Israel “fully responsible for this heinous crime of spreading addiction and destroying the Palestinian social fabric from within”.
They further labelled the American- and Israeli-run aid centres “death traps”.
Human rights and legal organisations have condemned the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which operates four distribution sites, under the supervision of Israeli occupation forces, for “undermining humanitarian standards and aiding in the forced displacement of Palestinians”.
Fifteen human rights organisations recently called for GHF’s operations to be suspended, citing concerns of complicity in war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide.
Gaza’s health authorities say at least 516 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces near aid collection sites over the past month.
On Friday, Haaretz published testimonies from Israeli soldiers who admitted to deliberately firing at unarmed civilians near these sites.

Ghostly Sounds
Is it just the wind
threading through shattered rubble—
or a final breath
caught in the ruins?
The world’s most moral army,
draped in its victims’ rags,
dances a victory waltz
on the shattered skulls of children.
New architects of horror
stun the world—
hatred and hunger
unleashed without shame.
Laws are inked to muzzle protest,
to criminalize grief,
to silence any voice
naming genocide.
Long after bulldozers erase the evidence,
and glass towers rise
for the victors,
the whispers remain—
justice, justice—
echoing in the dust.
We are all complicit
when we choose silence.
