Enough is Enough! Francesca Albanese Calls for an Unstoppable Sea Fleet to Break the Siege on Gaza and create a humanitarian corridor
This is no longer about one boat, any more, 7,000 participants have registered to sail to Rafah. And Francesca Albanese is leading the way.

Following the illegal interception of the Madleen in international waters by Israeli forces, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has issued a clear and urgent call:
“Every Mediterranean port should send boats with aid, solidarity, and humanity to Gaza. They shall sail together—united, they will be unstoppable.”
Albanese’s words come after the Madleen—a civilian sailboat carrying food, baby formula, and medical aid—was seized at sea and its crew kidnapped. Instead of delivering aid to Palestinians under siege, the boat was redirected under armed force. Albanese condemned the seizure and called for the immediate release of the Madleen and its crew.
But her message goes further.
This is no longer about one boat. It is about breaking the siege.
“BreakingTheSiege is a legal duty for states, and a moral imperative for all of us.”
Albanese is not calling for diplomatic statements or delayed UN resolutions. She is calling for action—mass action. Thousands of boats from every Mediterranean port. A people’s fleet. Unarmed. Determined. Lawful. Unstoppable.
“These are ordinary people stepping up where States continue to fail, risking everything to defend human rights.”
Albanese also condemned the Israeli government’s smears and personal attacks against activists onboard the Madleen, including Greta Thunberg, who were mocked and vilified in official propaganda. Israel’s Foreign Ministry called the Madleen a “selfie yacht.” But the rage it sparked tells the real story. Because one boat pierced the wall of silence.
And now more are coming.
The Sumud Convoy—organised in Tunisia—has registered over 7,000 participants from across the Maghreb. On 12 June, they will converge with the March to Gaza in Cairo and head together to Rafah. This land mobilisation will mirror what Albanese is urging by sea.
“United, we can make it. United, we will. Human rights are for all—or they are for none.”
In a region abandoned by international law, with UNRWA defunded and humanitarian corridors turned into kill zones, the moral burden shifts to people of conscience. Albanese’s call is not symbolic. It is lawful resistance to genocide. It is civilian mobilisation where state complicity reigns. And it is rooted in the unbearable reality:
“Let’s stay focused on GAZA, where Israel continues to kill and inflict torment without respite. The images reaching those of us who choose to care are UNBEARABLE. ‘All children are our children,’ Humanity said, seemingly in vain.”
Enough is enough. The Madleen was only the beginning. It’s time to break the siege—by sea, by land, by millions.
The Sumud Convoy: Ordinary people are stepping up where states continue to fail. Risking everything to defend human rights.
The Sumud Convoy—named after the Arabic word for steadfastness—is mobilising from ports across the Mediterranean. Its mission is to break Israel’s illegal naval blockade of Gaza and deliver vital aid…
Hi.
Thanks for your writings, however is there an error in your subheading which mentions 7,000 boats, but further down you mentions 7,000 participants?
Many thanks for your words. ❤️🙌
